Why did you set up the organisation, what was the vision?
“I love to look after people and make sure they have a great time. I have been involved in the restaurant trade for as long as I can remember, and I have always been passionate about food. The hours can be long, but I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else. Our restaurant is located right on the Dundee Waterfront and is a short walk from the new V&A (opening September 2018). It is exciting to see all the development going on and how it is changing the city.”
Why is accessibility important to you?
“We want to ensure our restaurant is open to everyone, regardless of their specific requirements. We have level access throughout the venue and a double width door entrance. Our virtual tour provides some basic access information for anyone wanting to visit the restaurant and will allow them to virtually walk around before they arrive, be sure to view it yourself here. Additionally, feel free to call on 01382 221811 should you require any additional information.”
Why is a virtual tour important to you?
“We want our client to see our restaurant for themselves before they visit. It is such a great location at the Waterfront and static pictures would never do it justice. The 360-degree images provide a real and accurate feel of the restaurant and location. Additionally, the virtual tour provides a great marketing opportunity for us to connect with our customers and show our restaurant.”

How has working with OOVIRT made you more accessible?
“OOVIRT has helped raise the awareness of some of the issues people face in regard to overcoming accessibility and how much difference having the correct information displayed on your website makes to improving your customer experience. For example, people can now see inside our accessible toilet to see if it is accessible for them. It is an on-going process to ensure our restaurant is accessible for all and we want to continually work with OOVIRT to help ensure we maintain a high standard of accessibility.”
What special offers/events/promos do you have?
“With the upcoming opening of the V&A, it is an exciting time for Kobee. We always try to keep our services and offers fresh and up-to-date.

We currently offer a daily pre-theatre menu from 17:00 – 18:15 and we offer a lunch service on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 15:00.

Also, be sure to enter our June Facebook competition for a chance to win a champagne dinner for two here.

Please call 01382 221811 to make your reservation or discuss any access requirements.”

Don’t forget to follow Kobee on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date on all their special offers and have a look at their delicious menu on their website.

Thank you to Steve Chow, the Operating Manager of Kobee for answering our questions this week and stay tuned for our next case study coming soon.

During my studies the field that I had a great interest in was web development however since graduating I have also become very interested in accessibility. I was born with Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and since the age of 3 I have used a wheelchair 24/7. Due to my disability I have always come across problems regarding accessibility, which is why it’s such a passion for me.
