A virtual tour is a simulated first-person view of an actual location allowing the viewer to move through the location by viewing a series of 360 degree panoramic images. Each 360 degree panoramic image is a composition of a number of still photographs stitched together to form an uninterrupted view of a given location.
How can a virtual tour benefit my business?
A 360° virtual tour allows you to give your prospective clients a complete picture of your business/property showing them the quality and investment that you have made whilst giving them a real feeling of actually being there. A 360° virtual tour allows anyone with internet access to look around a room or view from anywhere in the world at any time of day. They can look up, down, left and right and even zoom in and out, just like they were standing within the image. It’s the next best thing to actually being there & it’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week & 365 days a year. By using virtual tour technology you can effectively communicate to your potential clients the layout, surroundings and high quality of your business in a relaxed no-pressure environment.

I have decided to purchase a virtual tour. Please explain how the process works.
After discussing your needs, you will receive a proposal that includes costs and outlines the project requirements. Once that is agreed upon, we then schedule a date to come out to your location and shoot your virtual tour. After your virtual tour is shot, we start the development and production process. You will receive a link where your virtual tour can be looked over for approval.
How do customers view the Virtual Tour?
The two most common ways for customers to view the virtual tour is by; embedding the virtual tour directly on your website or by placing a clickable link that takes you directly to the virtual tour. Both of these are relatively easy processes which can be discussed and aided by our experienced team. The virtual tours are hosted on our server to aid the smooth running process of the virtual tours online.
Alternatively, if none of these options are suitable for you we can discuss alternatives with you so you’re comfortable with how to proceed.
How long will the photoshoot take?
The amount of time varies depending upon the size of your property and the amount of panoramic photography required. Smaller photoshoots are usually done within the hour, where as a large venue can take 1-2 days.
How long does it take to process a tour?
Most virtual tours can be captured within a day. Processing time depends on the level of customisation and size of virtual tour with an average virtual tour being available for review within 3-5 days.
What do I need to prepare?
We are not responsible for the presentation of the property for photography but will make efforts to improve the presentation of the property from a 360° point of view.
We ask all our customers to prepare the relevant areas that are being captured in 360° to your own exacting standards. Before a photography session you may wish to consider these hints for presentation: Lobby area de-cluttered, beds made properly, cushions/pillows arranged restaurant tables set. Fresh flowers and filled fruit bowls can be arranged to add points of interest to pictures. For external shots be mindful of scaffolding/building work which would detract from the image. Try and ensure all the lights are working.
Imagine the photographer as a potential guest. You would want to show it in the best light to secure their business. Remember, the images we take are fully immersive 360° pictures. We are allowing the potential visitor to (virtually) step into the scene and see it as if they were there.
Furthermore, staging people to pose in the photo-shoot is a great way to ensure predictable, good looking “action shots” within your virtual tour.
Do my customers need special software to view the tour?
No. The vast majority of devices and computers have an HTML5 browser installed on them. All our tours are delivered in HTML5 for maximum accessibility.
HTML5 has been designed to deliver almost everything you’d want to do online without requiring additional software such as browser plugins. It does everything from virtual tours to apps, music to movies, and can also be used to build incredibly complicated applications that run in your browser.
There’s more. HTML5 isn’t proprietary, so you don’t need to pay royalties to use it. It’s also cross-platform, which means it doesn’t care whether you’re using a tablet or a smartphone, a netbook, notebook or ultrabook or a Smart TV: if your browser supports HTML5, it should work flawlessly.
I don’t have a website, can I still have a tour?
Yes. All our tours are listed on oovirt.com Virtual Tour Directory website along with your basic business information and contact details (as provided) on it. You can also place the virtual tour weblink on other websites where you promote your business.
Are there discounts available?
Yes. We are happy to discuss preferential rates with clients and businesses that require frequent use of the tour service. We also offer package prices if you are taking 2 or more of our services at the same time. In addition, we offer tour refreshes at preferential rates for existing clients who have remodelled their offering or updated their premises. Virtual tour discounts are also available for registered 3rd sector organisations.
May I decide what interior and exterior shots I want in my 360 virtual tour?
Yes, you may choose any scenes or rooms to be represented in the virtual tour of each property. Exterior shots are weather permitting and of course most things look best on a nice sunny day.
If I have to cancel my 360 virtual tour shoot, will I still be charged?
There is no charge for cancelling your appointment if you contact with Oovirt at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment at which time we will be able to rearrange a convenient time. If you do not contact us before the appointment or cancel on the day of the survey, you will be charged a minimum cancellation fee of £50.00 and up to the full quoted cost plus any travel expenses incurred..
